1. Booking confirmation
A booking is confirmed only after Brisbane Spit Roast Hire receives the applicable booking deposit:
- $200 for equipment-only bookings where we do not supply meat.
- $400 for bookings where we supply meat.
The booking deposit forms part of the total booking price. By paying the deposit, the customer accepts the written quote or invoice and these booking terms.
2. Final payment
The remaining balance, including any cleaning and security bond, must be received no later than seven calendar days before the delivery, collection or event date shown on the invoice.
For bookings made within seven days of that date, full payment is required when the booking is confirmed.
3. Customer cancellations
Cancellation requests must be made in writing.
If a booking is cancelled more than seven calendar days before the delivery, collection or event date, amounts paid will be refunded less any reasonable, non-recoverable costs already incurred for the booking.
If a booking is cancelled seven calendar days or less before that date, the customer is responsible for reasonable costs and losses Brisbane Spit Roast Hire cannot recover. These may include food already ordered or prepared, third-party supplier charges and reasonable loss associated with equipment reserved for the booking.
These amounts may be deducted from payments already received. Any remaining balance will be refunded, and the total cancellation charge will not exceed the total booking price.
4. Cleaning and security bond
A refundable cleaning and security bond applies to each spit roaster:
- $150 for each standard spit roaster.
- $200 for each extra-large spit roaster.
The bond is separate from the booking deposit and the applicable amount will be shown on the invoice.
We will refund the bond within five business days after the equipment is returned and inspected, provided all equipment and components are returned by the agreed time, complete, free from damage other than reasonable wear and tear, and free from food residue, grease, ash and charcoal.
We may deduct the reasonable cost of additional cleaning, repairing damage or replacing missing components. We will provide a written explanation of any deduction. If the reasonable cost exceeds the bond, the customer is responsible for the additional amount.
5. Meat pricing
Quoted meat prices are based on supplier pricing available when the quote is prepared. If a supplier price changes before the meat is ordered, we will notify the customer and obtain written approval before changing the booking price.
Once the price is approved and the order is placed, it will not change unless the customer changes the order.
6. Payment methods and card surcharges
Where permitted by applicable payment rules, online or remote card payments processed through Square currently attract a 2.2% card surcharge. The applicable surcharge will be shown before payment and will not exceed our cost of accepting that payment method.
Bank transfers do not attract a surcharge. For bank transfer, pay the invoice balance excluding any separately itemised card surcharge.
7. Prices and GST
All amounts are in Australian dollars. Brisbane Spit Roast Hire is not currently registered for GST, so displayed prices and invoices do not include a GST component.
8. Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified.
